toothy woes, Gojira roars

Been having issues with a trio of bad teeth since spring break's end. blew up the right side of my face like a chipmunks cheek food storage pouch. Ended up having to have them removed.. so now having to deal with that and several stitches. thankfully my teacher is understanding. I got reassured and my absences were excused. I'll have to hop-to on my homework though if i care to catch up. edit: now, why is it that that huge load of tutorials i have for reference, will not answer my questions!!?
I dropped my govt class. was causing the worst stress! Still have a history class to make it through.. already have several test fails to somehow make up for. think i can do it though.
edit: oh yeah, I gots a certif of academic achievement in the mail the other day, seems last semester won me a dean's paper of honor. lol! i tacked it onto the cork wall board and giggled over it for a time. betcha my adviser would be steamed if she saw that.

Been biding my heal time watching old Godzilla movies. (gojira is short for gorilla and whale. hence why he kind of looks a bit like an ape, and is often first seen in the water, which he breathes, right?) I love these old films! I wonder if anyone has ever done a picture and data list of all the monsters Godzilla has come against.) edit: there is! try the -link- here!

and, since I am on the woes portion of this post... losing another friend this evening. one I have known for many years too. At first I thought to befriend him, then to defend him, then when it became tested, i thought to advise him... he ignored me, and thought to push around me to others I care about. It's finally enough. I'm done. There is still politeness to be had, graceful steps to be taken. But enough is enough,.. after all this time. There really is nothing more i want to do.

Oh and Mabinogi?.. Fix your graphic card issues! Many of the PC laptop OS's running windows 8 cannot play the game at all! and Don't give me the whole "roll back yer own card drivers" claptrap. it doesn't work. we'd have to roll them back beyond the working ability of several programs already on edge of non-running status for win8 just to get the game to work. so, update your own driver requirements! My laptop can see far better graphics then mabi has just fine, no complaints, no issues. so why You giving me grief huh?

Hey there. school isn't going to hot but well... there ya are... hope i make it to another semester without having to pay through the nose for my class failures... some grant.. ever hear of a gift you have to pay back? still sounds like a stinky loan to me. Classes are all right.. i guess.. dismayed with my history and government classes though. gov teacher speaks legalese on his tests... can't understand much at all of what he's trying to ask. history isn't fairing much better, even though she seems nice enough.. maybe its the online-ness of it all. 3d class is kinda fun.. even if it is just trying to learn an expensive huge program that I don't have a chance in hey of affording. Guess that's the way of it though.

Sobbing real tears for the spent spring break.. i have only just started relaxing! Why couldn't it be just a tiny bit longer?!

Been in the worlds of mabinogi a fair bit this semester.. and in dragon nest. don't seen to have enough time for eq2... heard they have changed company hands... sure hope its someone who cares a bit about the game.. enough to keep it alive with actual updates.... instead of sitting on it until it truly dies. (shades of creatures 3 and docking station... poor thing.. such a good game too)

dragon nest has changed a lot since i last was there.. added 3 new classes, changed the crafting system .. added fishing and cooking O.O some terribly confusing things in that. crafting is confusing.. i know they tried to make it simpler.. and I applaud them in the effort. just.. uh... the spark thing, i'm lost. picked up a plate the other day, and it required a diamond splinter.. I mean fragment.. only they don't drop those anymore. hrm.. still kinda funny to be sent in-game mail from npc's. Who else does that? Love their sense of humor. hehe

well, as my luck goes, I do have the day off. fault being, a tooth decided on a quick abscess
into my cheek, last night, and the earliest i could be seen by a DDS is tomorrow. so here I sit hopped up on drugs (Aleve, I love you!) and feeling like i have a balloon plastered to the right side of my face. Went to the store and could feeeel the stares so.. no, not going anywhere but the dentist tomorrow, and hoping for antibiotics.

I miss ceramics class. people might seem real.. but its really only temporary. unless you somehow manage to retain an actual friend. Still, some of the teachers have amazingly real personalities. Ms Green was the best. lol! visiting another classroom just for hugs and giggles. Embarrassing yet surprisingly fun. ^.^ I won't soon forget her. I really like my 3d class as well... love the nifty program... feels like a lot of work though. ..and so expensive.. don't know when I'd have the chance outside of the class, to use these new skills anyway.

too loopy for dragon nest this evening. most of the rest of the household has gone a little manic with that world. Lol! guess it was time.. or something. I've only been talking about it for... some while now.
amazingly splashy kill-em-good skills and a bit of fast action.. where you can't even see what you are attacking at times. just keep swinging and hope one of those hotskills hits the intended big bad guy.

hi there. its me again! ^.^ thats right, I'm back.. at least for the semester..on a new laptop! (one with keys and a spacebar that doesntlike to work all too well. -.-; I'll try to correct but please bear with the meshed-up words. school has been going along.. with few bumps.. at least up to thisone.. dern, Govt is such an horrid subject! I'd almost rather take a math class! ..bet you never thought you'd hear me saythat one! and it worse then usual because its an unnecessarily tough online one. Anyway, atleast I still managed one sweet art-related class! ... even if it was against the advice of the adviser who chewed me out for about 30 mins about this one class before realizing i had others listed online. mehhwell, after a couple of snow days and iffy weather, its finally spring break! a whole week of... catching up. -.- and a few animes and some game catch-up as well! so hangonto yer sweaters,coats and warmwear, cuz its that long awaited anime review time!

Had a dream about you last night.. dark curly hair, sad look... you seemed depressed and unhappy.. you felt.. tremendously sleepy. you managed what you set out to do.. took my care, mugged it, beat it up then kicked it around the yard a few times... all in one short span of time, perhaps the proof was to be blamed on a single uttered sentence. Almost hard to believe that a flame going for a good year plus, guttered and went out just like that... the bubble popped and i was left standing there in the rain with a bedraggled smelly old stray I was nearly repulsed to be in the company of. in the end result, he didn't want me.. and i realized i didn't want you either. go home again dude, please.. and stay there this time.

Had an uncle pass away recently... I guess you could say he was my favorite uncle... as relatives go, he never seemed too bad... I made up with his wife before that all ended... I feel.. a little sad really.. not to say I was especially close to either of them really but I'm both sorry he left.. and just a little happy to think perhaps he went to be with his lady once again eh? I understand they were childhood sweethearts... married young.. stayed together all that time. He was a bit of a cookie fiend.. and a beer drinker for a time there... she was.. rather sharp-tongued but then, it seems to me most people of that era were a little wasp and sass. I remember a time, with a put together pool in the backyard.. I went round and round and round until they had to call me in for dinner. well, sorry it had to be relegated to part of a blog post, but know I never truly thought ill of ya uncle. You were alright in my book. Thanks for the time... and to see the stamps too.

Gots homework to do... don't want to do it... economics in politics is one of the most boring subjects i have ever had to indulge in for longer then 5 mins. Guargh! cannot seem to concentrate on the history, never-mind the essay. Hes an alright teacher though, i suppose... when he breaks out of the rote gotta-says.
Art Teacher is cool, for the most part.. I like jesting about with him. He's been absent more then we have though. Guess its been a tough semester all around for him. And it's true isn't it? His opinion must be worth something, or he wouldn't be worth a plug nickle as a teacher.

This might be my last post from a stable net spot... I'll get stuck on my phone again for awhile.. at least until sometime next semester when i can hopefully afford a laptop that i can use at the school. ..which still isn't 'stable' but the best i can accomplish, considering the monopoly where I live at.

So I have really enjoyed time spent hanging with Tin on Everquest 2.. and getting to be there for the new ninja skills in mabinogi as well as a new pet... even if it does have a long thin inventory space. To my guildies there... you guys are still fun to hear from, and thank you for letting me be a small part of it.

oh, and yahoo, again I say... Get with it! Your starting to become a constant annoyance!

Sleepy time in school

I survived English with a b. Yay! Now it's time for the next part. I thought the English teacher was good at imitating Charlie Brown's teacher but..no..history teach has the corner market on putting people to sleep.somehow, he expects an essay finished by this Thursday.. 3 of those and two exams. Sigh.

I'm also rather flustered with blizzard..even as I think I understand the generic idea.

Why do I have this blog again? ... oh right. gripes and updates.
ok.. so..

Today was another bummer of a day in a week long series. Today, my seat mate or one of 2 others likely stole my precious (favorite) flash drive. add to the use of my stolen college card at the beginning of the week,.. still ongoing, because im not sure just what I'm suppose to do at the higher one web pages. .. I have another omg 2 page paper draft due tomorrow... the poor art teacher got an earful from the only drawing 2 student he has this part of summer.. so he was in the hall for much of the period. and someone i know is driving me to remove my computer beast rather then bring over my printer to complete my project all in one place. Also have another four major papers due for the second half of summer, when us history starts up. also, sign-up for fall sem, is happening on monday next.. and I'm not even sure I will pass english yet, nevermind us history, which hasn't even started. My ride to school, no longer wants to stay late... and classes I was hoping to take, start late. It was suggested i try a web class, but not at all sure if i could.. since home doesn't have web access, and a 'friend' who would rather i remove the beast then bring over the printer... or the folks who are due back before fall is done. Since i cannot take later classes, and there is no such thing as a web version of a ceramics class, means i have to take the morning class, and settle with less extra time. and of course, the writing class i need.. is in conflict.....

Then, just to add to the low irritated feelings... as i mentioned, i am over there borrowing the net, in hopes of gaining access to several games that are insisting i have access in order to get them underway... i was told, that's all i needed.. access just long enough to get the updates, then offline for the game itself. This seems to be so, for some games anyway..
not, apparently, for Starcraft 2 though. i even have the box loaded onto the computer but no.... i need to load.. more,...a lot more... what is counting for several days running with an achingly slow speed more... updates? WTF? this is insane!

oh, and not to forget the lack of disability. for some odd reason, they think too much has changed and so took me off the program.. sigh.. so need to go through the whole dispute proceedings in hopes that at some point i can maybe get back on it.. meanwhile... so much for electricity.

yepyep.. that's how my whole week + thus far has gone.. so pardon me for a bit of the doldrums. I'll try to spark up a little and get back to all you invisible masses sometime again soon.

It's finals week.. I got the jitters... not looking forward to tomorrow. I hate tests!!

Oh and blizzard, I am horribly disappointed in you!! I loved starcraft 1 and broodwars. The storyline itself was well worth the bucks I spent getting the games. I eagerly awaited starcraft 2 for such a long time! When it finely hit the shelves, I was right there to grab my copy.. but what did you do?!!
First sign of trouble came moments after I popped the disk into the drive... that code you got on your box is just not enough anymore.no no no..you need to get another one online... but it's ok if you can't get online..just find someone who is and dla text file that will let you in. ...okkay... the programme slowly loads..I get a video review.. I'm chewing nails in excitement.. can hardly sit still and tahdah! It's done! Click the start and..only..no start..instead I get amsg saying..this program needs an update..and needs to have it before we are willing to let you see anything of this huge game we just loaded onto your computer. What?!! It has a singly player campaign though! I should just be able to play it offline like I did with 1. What did you do, blizzard?!!
You took my money to get the box already! Why can't I play?! This game isn't just a singleminded mmo. This is a game in it's own right too! Why must I have to go online to play it?!
Not everyone has the ability to get a computer with enough space to play such a game online, ya know. Some of us live out in the boondocks where such a thing is unavailable. Yes, there are such places existing in the world as yet. Your game was good!. The storyline, the voices.. the graphics!! What did you do?! Give me back the ability to play starcraft offline or give me my money back! Meeking hozers. I feel gyped.. paid for a box of uselessness.So disappointed. Growls n grumbles. I loved that game. Played it for the story..not for the insane ladders online.

And since I'm still standing in the soapbox... exactly what is it mobile..or whoever, has against trying to watch vids on YouTube these days? I mean ok, so there are a bunch of jerk countries playing a game of let's control the net.. that's annoying enough as it is, here I finally am able to get back.. maybe..to a bit of drama watching with free time.. and I see a likely enjoyable episode..click the "play" button on my little mobile and... wait for an ad... buffer spins... finally it starts.. no.. buffer spins... ok.. finally it.. buffer spins some more.. ok well anyw..buffer spins... you know, im not gunna even underst.. buffer again... what I am h... buffer....ing.. grou.. buffer... wl! This is worse the n th... buffer... hikups..buffer...
Not working. =.= ok fine! Il just dl the silly episode onto my phone so I can maybe see it with out all the buffer interruptions. Nope.. country of origin objects. Wha? Who objected? Why?

I swear there are times I think someone is out to get back at me for all the time I ever interrupted someone.

let there -finally- be a little light!

hey there. yepyep I'm still here somewhere! and still a little gimped for internet. but getting a little more used to it now. there's finally seen a bit of light in the tunnel. got something coming in now, so able to return to a lit house. of course it not only lit the welcome home sign nice and friendly like, but it also lit up all the dirt that has managed to accumulate in my absence. Ugh! so, since its spring break..yay? I have taken to the task of housecleaning... in between studying and running about trying to take care of neglected need-to-do shtuff... like go to the bank and straighten them out..again, go to the legal office type places to straighten me out..again, pay bills.. again, do shopping.. again. stuff like that.
also, my lovable teachers, one in special, gave homework and the threat of yet another test-type the moment we return. Ugh!!! I thought spring break ment a break from school for a week, not study study till yer brains fall out under threat of another test! blehh. it's more a break for the teachers then the students. Humph!
still, I'm not doing too badly thus far anyway. remembering most of it...although I sadly shnarfed on that last test. got 3 I knew I would get wrong and 1 that was a surprise..but yeah, it was wrong. -sigh- I got a B. could still be worse though, so I was really happy there for a bit. I got a B!! not a C or a fail but a B! That's not perfect maybe but its still pretty good!
so life has improved a notch or two for me, now..to see if I can get it to improve just a bit more.

what else?..ah h..I'm in the mood for an anime..hmm.. saw a bit of the zombie one..it was typically brainless. need something more interesting. oh a live action of kiki's delivery service? wonder if it flew ok... think it's worth the time? hmm m.. I'll get back to you on this one.

survived the first week of school. got a couple of, im thinking, rather nice teachers. the subjects are a bit tough, but I think ill survive. was a little worried at first. well, I still am.. as I am waiting for my aid so I can get the things I know I need... and it hasent shown as yet. even thiugh I worried a lot about my general disabilities/gimpiness to start with..im not quite so worried now maybe I can do this after all. ull keep trying.

ahh.. weird typing errors going on here as im not able to freely use my owwn conputer. I can't correct. sorry about that. home statis is all still.. in the dark... hope the weatherstays fairly nice. today was an unexpected rest day for me... I was soooo tierd last night.. feels quite like I slept throygh the night and most if the day as well. no feeling of ..too many overwealming worrys for the weekend anyway. I have 2- assignments to complete over the next 5 days... memorizition and some dictionary use and.. playing in the mud.. which is hardly something I consider work at all. I love clay!!!

anyway, I finally managed to finish the drama I was trying to watch... now to figure out if this device has screenie ability. I miss my computer.

btw... to a certain sheep I have known for a few years or so. hwy! thanks for being such a tenacious friend! yur wool is completely safe around this mew! wouldnt trade our friendship for anything! :D

nappy euw hear!!

The weather has gotten nippy, and I have been laying low since before christmas hoping things would return to normalcy.. but alas, it seems this is now the new norm... and here comes a new school semester rush n rage. not to mention i haz a cold and am in the dark and even sir coo is shivering. hasn't been that wonderful of a new year start... and thus far, of light at the end of this particular tunnel. and I worry for my cat.

so take it how you please, mighty internet i am being denied in favor for munchies of hotdogs and mushmellows over a hotbox in the cold darkness. I seriously feel for the homeless this year. some people just never get the break they so desperately need.

A glimmer of an upside is.. a new phone, giving me a glimse at my mail once in awhile and a chat with a friend. My profuse apologies Tin.. bad circumstances and not being warned beforehand really baked my whole year this time.

Im even having issues just trying to catchup to my dramas *cry! sniff* Ill try to hang in there... a believe in the thought of when things can get no worse... they get better. dern it!! they Have to!

so.. hope the new year improves finances in a great cascade of good fortune for all I know, including myself. :P My resolution? ..survival!

Another rare surf-by posting

what started as one-three months of waiting, has turned over into the new year. -sigh- well, I haven't truely abandoned you all! no plans to, anyway. Still being stuck in 'cut-off' from the net statis has given me a nice long review of what it is i valued most about the net..
I miss my friends.. the connection, you know? I miss being able to see places on the other side o th' world.. places I will never get to visit in this lifetime. I miss the fun, the games, the drama, and series shows. I miss google maps and streetview. I miss viewing cams and videos of some of my favorite places in the world. I miss being able to quickly search for recipes and information whenever I pleased... and get lost. I got lost in-surf a lot. hmmm there should be a name and condition for that... like um.. derailed en-surf.

so.. no fear.. sooner or later... (prolly later) I shall return to online statis... until then, I will utilize the rare moment with library or college and try to cram all of my question/answers into a single day of surfing. wee! Just like this day of posting.

Hope yer holiday season is survivable.

Yahoo Answers... and suspends. Apparently with no given reasons.

Here I was actually trying to follow the rules of the site, staying nice, not bantering or arguing with people, even when they tried to start it, sticking with just answering the question as best I know, and only adding relevant links that I don't think is virus'd or has a ton of advertizing pop-ups. There are only two moments, i can think of that could have been a possible reason... and since this is My blog, I can state my thoughts on them, so there! Some person was asking for information concerning the GED. So I tried to give them as neutral an answer as possible.. The GED IS a viable alternative, why would the gov, offer it otherwise? Personally, I was given to favor the idea, when.. while heading for my final year in school, the teachers and counselor were giving me grief over trumpd-up charges even my father, the mighty mugwump himself, couldn't understand, I withdrew. One of the teachers had said there was no such thing as an equivalency test, so I looked into it... and there it was.

Unlike a diploma, which any monkey can manage these days (seriously), The GED actually tested how much you retained lo those many years of being taught by your local school system and its hard working, if rather uncaring, teachers.
Anyway, two other answers later, some person gave an answer that ragged all over mine and anothers, by saying they were absolutely horrible advice and to not attempt to even consider doing such a detrimental thing etcetc... and the asker chose that as the best answer. yay for them. Although I spent a bit of time fuming over the idiocy presented and accepted.. I didn't reply or say anything about it, just let it sink under other questions and answers.

The last question I posted to, wasn't a 100% question. It was referencing a website known for asian drama video links that had recently closed its website for mysterious reasons. And then, the name and links etc popped up on another site. The asker had said, isn't it wonderful that its back again?! and then said since it had to be a question of sorts, to list the top 5 drama's in each country liked.

So, I, following another posters comments, said this site being 'back' wasn't my first choice of places to go to, but it was good to be able to be found somewhere when I look for information others might not have... which happens fairly often to me. I then listed top 5 in three countries producing dramas.. in no special order. That was that.
When last I saw, there had been other answers in a similar fashion, both before mine and after.

Now, if it is related to Asian drama, I have been putting my blog review addy in under the links box. I did not do so for things not related to dramas though... since it doesn't apply. This was in keeping with the community guidelines.

Drama addiction and review is quite the hobby for me. And after a list of some 300+ watched drama/movie reviews, I think I can qualify as having a bit of experience in the area.

Now, it is possible that the question was deleted.. because it wasn't really a question.. more like a statement and sharing of info about a specific subject in some controversy (as most video linking sites are). But even were that the case, why suspend the answerers?
Edit: I found it, only my answer had been deleted. even the one I was 'following' was still there. (the chosen answer said the site was a rip-off. ok, so? Why should I care, as I stated in my answer.. it isn't really my first choice anyway.)

If it was for the GED answer, why suspend me for answering the question at all? I violated no guidelines that I can see.

Full House 1, was about a girl writer who loses her family home (thanks to a couple of enemy-friends, who sell the place from under her.. not even going to go into the hows of that one) and her getting close/working for the singer/rich guy who bought the place in some sort of personal agreement to get it back.

Full House 2, was about a young martial artist, set free from her grandfather's watchful presence for a month or so to try to become the next leading clothing designer, and 2 up-and-rising singing artists and their horrible agent, who winds up splitting them up and taking one of the guy's family home away from him. Somewhere early on, the guys end up hiring her as their outfitter and both fall for her clumsy charm.

In this wide world of language styles

American English

The word water, in American English isn't really a lazy way of speaking as most people seem to think. Its an alveolar flap that makes the tt's sound a bit more like 'dd's. (I believe, for the British English, its 'butter' or batter, that also makes that noise? not sure.) wah'tderr. There is always the exception of when we are trying to speak very clearly for the listener.. vs just typical chatting.

The tip of the tongue taps or slightly slides very briefly against the ridge on the upper palate.

barter is word that has this alveolar flap. bar'tdur. whereas 'matter' and 'batter' still sound like 'tt's. mah'terr bah'terr.

I do think it does depend a little on a given area as well though.. as some people say things differently from one side of America to the other side.
It's a bit like trying to decide what sound is used with which word. ay-long, ahh-short, or the slightly nasally aeh as in nah? most Americans I have heard call the word.. apple.. aeh'pul not ahh'pul or ay'pul. this is of course, in general. each area from this state to that, might have a slightly different (local) way of saying it. How do you say it?

My accent.. if it could be said that I have one.. is um.. American English.. with a 'deep southern drawl' influence and a whole lot of what I call old-fashioned 'pet' words and phrases from.. all over the place.

A bit of an english pronunciation before I go on, to help with my 'phonic' sound description..

A. there is 'ahh' (short vowel) as in.. about, Asparagus, and daughter.
'aeh' (a bit like 'ehh'.. only with the 'nahh' sound) as in.. apple, absolutely, ant, trash, can, and dam.
'ay' (strong/long vowel) is in.. hay, tray, okay, April, ape, and ain't.

E. 'eh' (short vowel)as in.. bleh, friend, send, pending, trend, cherry, and ten.
'ee' (long vowel) as in.. tween, spleen, scream and eek.

I. 'ih' (short vowel) as in.. sniff, rift, quick, and drip
'iy' (long vowel) as in.. eye, sigh, bye, tie, and cry

O. 'ah' or 'uh'(short vowel) as in on, off, love, dove, done, and some
'oh' (long vowel) as in.. so, dough, toy, over, flow
OO (long or sometimes short U sound) as in.. soon, toon, root, and foot(fuht)

U. 'uh' (short vowel) as in.. gum, under, us, sun, duck, drum, and fun

as in.. case = kay's, copper = kah'per cinch = sinch, circumstance = ser-cuhm-stahns


then a whole bunch of double vowel sounds..
ae/ia = 'aye' or rarely 'ee' as in.. aeon, aerie, daemonic, pediatrics
ai = 'eh' 'err' or 'aye' as in.. said, fair, acclaim
au = 'awo' 'ahh' 'ehh' or 'ow' as in.. abound, about, account
ea = 'eh' or 'ee' or occasionally 'ehr' as in.. dead, earth, tease
ei = 'ay' as in sleigh, freight, and reign

on the odd occurrence there are three vowels in a row, mesh the first two, then sound the last one. beautiful = b'ee'-u-tih-ful, continuous = con-tihn-yoo-uhs

double of the same consonant are just made into one sound.. sometimes separated by a quick 'breath' mark. butter = buh'ter, llama = lahmah, summer = sumerr


always exceptions to the rules..

gh = (ignored), often making the vowel before it long) as in.. night, fight, bright, freight
-ing = -een'guh or 'ihn' as in do'ing

'e' at the end of a word. called a silent 'e' - it makes most vowels before itself long ones.

Aunt = I weeble with this word. sometimes its 'ahh'nt and sometimes its aeh'nt.

wash = wahh'sh. Sometimes it comes out sounding a bit eastern with an 'r in it. wahh'rsh

oil = oy'yull ... (oy/oie, as in.. soy or toy)

water = wah'tdur ... yes folks, here it is.. the American English alveolar tap. and you didn't think we had one. lol! it's like.. the tip of the tongue goes up to the edge of the ridge in the upper part of your mouth and 'taps' or briefly slides against it to make the 'tduh' sound that isn't quite a 'd', a 't', nor is it quite an 'L' sound either. I have been told, its a bit like butter is for the British English.. and is much like the Japanese 'r'. (which sounds nothing like an 'r' to me.)

How about i describe it instead? a room large enough to have 2 oval sinks, a toilet, and a tub/shower with glass doors. beside the toilet on the floor, is a brush, and the occasional household cleaner. in the window sill, right next to it, (left side) is shampoo-ish items and the toiletpaper. on the sills of both mirrors over the sinks, toothbrush holder, hairbrush, and liquid soap container. in tub sills, shampoo, soap, and back brush. Next to the tub, behind the door, is a built in cupboard, where I mostly keep beauty and hair stuff. general theme of the room is.. uhh... white walls, grey linoleum floor and the stray towel or two at any given time.

The whole 'rat race' concept..and by it, having to fight against a constant catch22, which keeps you struggling just to stay in one spot. *flushhhh* ....

Tera First - step right up

Not long ago, I was introduced to a new portal going to a place called Tera. At first it was a crimp really. It's a Huge world, which meant for a loong wait in transit... and then, when I'd finally arrived.. I couldn't seem to view it properly at all. Made my eyes hurt just to read the too small writing on the signs. *rubs eyes* and I wasn't too sure I wanted to stay. I nearly didn't.
As it turns out though, several of my Mabinogi guildies had also located the same portal and helped me to adjust things a fair bit.







So I figured to stick it out a bit longer. Finally having adjusted settings adequately and getting used to things enough to get around, I wandered from this place to that, doing the random quest, and clumsily falling off of the random cliff, doing the occasional face-splat into rocks or trees.. and all too often, backpedaling -into- monsters while trying to keep distance from yet -other- monsters(!!) fortunately, the race I chose is rather adept at running away.






So far, it's a lot of fun exploring and.. knowing there is soo much more yet to be seen is so exciting to me! I understand there is crafting and enchanting available, still haven't figured out much more then extraction and the expense of refinement. >.< Overall, though, this place seems worthy, even for the addition of one small Elin archer.

It seems they have the right idea for what free-to-play should mean. (free-to-play.. all the way through.) The detail is amazing.. maybe not as ooooo'ish as Aion had.. but really pretty nice. General gameplay reminds me a fair bit of the worlds of Warcraft and Everquest 2... as well as the mouse-drive camera weirdness of Dragonquest.. which takes a fair bit of getting used to for me.

As something of a solo artist, this game is very worth checking out. just.. watch out for the little silver poke-balls next to the monsters names. Party monsters are freakingly nasty.

Remember:
The lag monster is alive and well! Have a care, lest you find it chewing on yer heels.
