nappy euw hear!!

The weather has gotten nippy, and I have been laying low since before christmas hoping things would return to normalcy.. but alas, it seems this is now the new norm... and here comes a new school semester rush n rage. not to mention i haz a cold and am in the dark and even sir coo is shivering. hasn't been that wonderful of a new year start... and thus far, of light at the end of this particular tunnel. and I worry for my cat.

so take it how you please, mighty internet i am being denied in favor for munchies of hotdogs and mushmellows over a hotbox in the cold darkness. I seriously feel for the homeless this year. some people just never get the break they so desperately need.

A glimmer of an upside is.. a new phone, giving me a glimse at my mail once in awhile and a chat with a friend. My profuse apologies Tin.. bad circumstances and not being warned beforehand really baked my whole year this time.

Im even having issues just trying to catchup to my dramas *cry! sniff* Ill try to hang in there... a believe in the thought of when things can get no worse... they get better. dern it!! they Have to!

so.. hope the new year improves finances in a great cascade of good fortune for all I know, including myself. :P My resolution? ..survival!

Another rare surf-by posting

what started as one-three months of waiting, has turned over into the new year. -sigh- well, I haven't truely abandoned you all! no plans to, anyway. Still being stuck in 'cut-off' from the net statis has given me a nice long review of what it is i valued most about the net..
I miss my friends.. the connection, you know? I miss being able to see places on the other side o th' world.. places I will never get to visit in this lifetime. I miss the fun, the games, the drama, and series shows. I miss google maps and streetview. I miss viewing cams and videos of some of my favorite places in the world. I miss being able to quickly search for recipes and information whenever I pleased... and get lost. I got lost in-surf a lot. hmmm there should be a name and condition for that... like um.. derailed en-surf.

so.. no fear.. sooner or later... (prolly later) I shall return to online statis... until then, I will utilize the rare moment with library or college and try to cram all of my question/answers into a single day of surfing. wee! Just like this day of posting.

Hope yer holiday season is survivable.

Sunday, September 08, 2013

hey there. its me again, for anyone who cares. lol!!
Having ongoing issues with connection of late.. so this is just a visit really. But I'm still here! maan, I hate it when reality intrudes into my nicely comfy online fantasy!
so, yeah.. I miss my games, my online friends, my dramas! I even miss, sad as it seems, youtube! Not to fret though, My love of the net will not be denied forever! I shall be back!! I have the confidence... >.> I think. given another month or three... maybe.. well untill then, I'll have times like this.. unseen perhaps, but still present. mewhahaha!..ha...ha.. Want my attention? Like the site? my post? anything useful to add? Post a Comment!! dernit.

One more time around the mulberry bush

Yahoo Answers... and suspends. Apparently with no given reasons.

Here I was actually trying to follow the rules of the site, staying nice, not bantering or arguing with people, even when they tried to start it, sticking with just answering the question as best I know, and only adding relevant links that I don't think is virus'd or has a ton of advertizing pop-ups. There are only two moments, i can think of that could have been a possible reason... and since this is My blog, I can state my thoughts on them, so there! Some person was asking for information concerning the GED. So I tried to give them as neutral an answer as possible.. The GED IS a viable alternative, why would the gov, offer it otherwise? Personally, I was given to favor the idea, when.. while heading for my final year in school, the teachers and counselor were giving me grief over trumpd-up charges even my father, the mighty mugwump himself, couldn't understand, I withdrew. One of the teachers had said there was no such thing as an equivalency test, so I looked into it... and there it was.

Unlike a diploma, which any monkey can manage these days (seriously), The GED actually tested how much you retained lo those many years of being taught by your local school system and its hard working, if rather uncaring, teachers.
Anyway, two other answers later, some person gave an answer that ragged all over mine and anothers, by saying they were absolutely horrible advice and to not attempt to even consider doing such a detrimental thing etcetc... and the asker chose that as the best answer. yay for them. Although I spent a bit of time fuming over the idiocy presented and accepted.. I didn't reply or say anything about it, just let it sink under other questions and answers.

The last question I posted to, wasn't a 100% question. It was referencing a website known for asian drama video links that had recently closed its website for mysterious reasons. And then, the name and links etc popped up on another site. The asker had said, isn't it wonderful that its back again?! and then said since it had to be a question of sorts, to list the top 5 drama's in each country liked.

So, I, following another posters comments, said this site being 'back' wasn't my first choice of places to go to, but it was good to be able to be found somewhere when I look for information others might not have... which happens fairly often to me. I then listed top 5 in three countries producing dramas.. in no special order. That was that.
When last I saw, there had been other answers in a similar fashion, both before mine and after.

Now, if it is related to Asian drama, I have been putting my blog review addy in under the links box. I did not do so for things not related to dramas though... since it doesn't apply. This was in keeping with the community guidelines.

here is the guideline I refer to.

"... If you have years of experience in something, have a special hobby, own your own business, or if you are a knowledge partner, it's OK to accompany a good, on-topic answer with a link to your website, blog, or email to offer more information. However, it is not OK to post links that are unrelated to the topic or are clearly meant only to solicit others for personal and financial gain."

http://answers.yahoo.com/info/community_guidelines

Drama addiction and review is quite the hobby for me. And after a list of some 300+ watched drama/movie reviews, I think I can qualify as having a bit of experience in the area.

Now, it is possible that the question was deleted.. because it wasn't really a question.. more like a statement and sharing of info about a specific subject in some controversy (as most video linking sites are). But even were that the case, why suspend the answerers?
Edit: I found it, only my answer had been deleted. even the one I was 'following' was still there. (the chosen answer said the site was a rip-off. ok, so? Why should I care, as I stated in my answer.. it isn't really my first choice anyway.)

And...

If it was for the GED answer, why suspend me for answering the question at all? I violated no guidelines that I can see.

and..

Just to throw in the odd wildcard... where does it say you cannot vote for your own answer? hm? especially when others do the same, and the asker doesn't vote for any answer at all.

And..

What about my upstanding Reputation Yahoo answers just sullied?!

----------
Since I"m in a ranting mood...

Once more I am being faced with a net-turn-off. which is somewhere, im my mind, between a power-play (which is a pet peeve) and an idiot provider, who seems to think a whole household of gamers easily equals less then 50gb of download a month.
-.-

edit: soo... long story even shorter, (playin a hat trick here) I falls offline until the bill can be paid.. then online again... maybe.. with a huge ol limit. (unless a new provider can be found without such an unreasonable demand on a crowded household's download)

Falling off the edge of virutal world.. yet again.

Here it is yet another time around the wheel.. and I find myself having let go of my 'best love'.. which is the internet.. for a time. I'll still likely get on once in awhile, when I can borrow a laptop, or library computer... So I'll likely be scarce for a bit... waiting for the moving dust/tempest to settle once again.

Have I ever mentioned just how much I detest moving!?!!

Random comment concerning a Korean Drama called Full house 2.
"~Follows the same story line as the first one."

semi-silent rebuttal..
"Full House 2 is -nothing- like the first drama. Did you even watch it?"
"Makes me doubt whatever you might have to say about other drama suggestions."

Full House 1, was about a girl writer who loses her family home (thanks to a couple of enemy-friends, who sell the place from under her.. not even going to go into the hows of that one) and her getting close/working for the singer/rich guy who bought the place in some sort of personal agreement to get it back.

Full House 2, was about a young martial artist, set free from her grandfather's watchful presence for a month or so to try to become the next leading clothing designer, and 2 up-and-rising singing artists and their horrible agent, who winds up splitting them up and taking one of the guy's family home away from him. Somewhere early on, the guys end up hiring her as their outfitter and both fall for her clumsy charm.

Ah Mesh, I really miss ya... miss Green as well. Hope things are going along swimmingly for yaall.

In this wide world of language styles

American English

The word water, in American English isn't really a lazy way of speaking as most people seem to think. Its an alveolar flap that makes the tt's sound a bit more like 'dd's. (I believe, for the British English, its 'butter' or batter, that also makes that noise? not sure.) wah'tderr. There is always the exception of when we are trying to speak very clearly for the listener.. vs just typical chatting.

The tip of the tongue taps or slightly slides very briefly against the ridge on the upper palate.

barter is word that has this alveolar flap. bar'tdur. whereas 'matter' and 'batter' still sound like 'tt's. mah'terr bah'terr.

I do think it does depend a little on a given area as well though.. as some people say things differently from one side of America to the other side.
It's a bit like trying to decide what sound is used with which word. ay-long, ahh-short, or the slightly nasally aeh as in nah? most Americans I have heard call the word.. apple.. aeh'pul not ahh'pul or ay'pul. this is of course, in general. each area from this state to that, might have a slightly different (local) way of saying it. How do you say it?

butter - buh'tdur
barter - bar'tder
better - beh'tur
carpenter - kahr'pehn'tur
winter - wihn'tur
letter - leh'tder
matter - maeh'tdur
sitter - sih'ter
attribute - ah'trih'byut
cassette - cae'seht
chatter - chaeh'tur
military - mihlah'tay'ree
battle - baeh'tdul
central - sehnt'rul
dirty - der'tdy
ninety - niyn'tdy
bitter - bih'tur
fetter - feh'tur
glitter - glih'ter
nettle - neh'tul
written - rih'ten
pretty - prih'tee

This alveolar flap/tap is also shown in other languages in varied degrees and word usage as well.

the Japanese 'ɾ'
the Dutch 'ɾ'
the Spanish 'ɾ' as well.

tags.. and some English pronunciation.. phonicly-speaking?

Ok so.. this isn't a vlog... its a blog, and therefor harder to convey things such as accent or the look of a place... And Although I wasn't tagged by name, I was amused enough to give it a whirl here anyway. so.. hang onto yer hats yaall!

Its a blog adaption of a video tag!

Accent tag.

My accent.. if it could be said that I have one.. is um.. American English.. with a 'deep southern drawl' influence and a whole lot of what I call old-fashioned 'pet' words and phrases from.. all over the place.

*****
A bit of an english pronunciation before I go on, to help with my 'phonic' sound description..

A. there is 'ahh' (short vowel) as in.. about, Asparagus, and daughter.
'aeh' (a bit like 'ehh'.. only with the 'nahh' sound) as in.. apple, absolutely, ant, trash, can, and dam.
'ay' (strong/long vowel) is in.. hay, tray, okay, April, ape, and ain't.

E. 'eh' (short vowel)as in.. bleh, friend, send, pending, trend, cherry, and ten.
'ee' (long vowel) as in.. tween, spleen, scream and eek.

I. 'ih' (short vowel) as in.. sniff, rift, quick, and drip
'iy' (long vowel) as in.. eye, sigh, bye, tie, and cry

O. 'ah' or 'uh'(short vowel) as in on, off, love, dove, done, and some
'oh' (long vowel) as in.. so, dough, toy, over, flow
OO (long or sometimes short U sound) as in.. soon, toon, root, and foot(fuht)

U. 'uh' (short vowel) as in.. gum, under, us, sun, duck, drum, and fun
'oo' (long vowel) as in.. tube, true, blue, and due

G and J. Guh (hard sound) or Juh (short sound) as in.. glue, grape, just, and jingle. and when pairing g and h together.. they go completely silent. as in.. night, fright, blight, and sight

C. sometimes sounds like 'kay' and sometimes sounds like 'Ss',
as in.. case = kay's, copper = kah'per cinch = sinch, circumstance = ser-cuhm-stahns

then a whole bunch of double vowel sounds..
ae/ia = 'aye' or rarely 'ee' as in.. aeon, aerie, daemonic, pediatrics
ai = 'eh' 'err' or 'aye' as in.. said, fair, acclaim
au = 'awo' 'ahh' 'ehh' or 'ow' as in.. abound, about, account
ea = 'eh' or 'ee' or occasionally 'ehr' as in.. dead, earth, tease
ei = 'ay' as in sleigh, freight, and reign
oa = 'oh' as in.. oak, moat, boat
ou = 'ow','oh' 'oo' as in.. sound, trout, mound, gourd, four, colour, you
io = 'eeoh' or 'shun' (-tion) as in.. onion, brio, radio, nation, creation
ie = 'ee' or 'iyeh' as in.. achieve, piece, diet
ia = "eeyah" or 'iyah' as in.. lamia, alias, diaper
ua = 'ahh' or 'ay' as in.. squash, aqua, aquarium

on the odd occurrence there are three vowels in a row, mesh the first two, then sound the last one. beautiful = b'ee'-u-tih-ful, continuous = con-tihn-yoo-uhs

double of the same consonant are just made into one sound.. sometimes separated by a quick 'breath' mark. butter = buh'ter, llama = lahmah, summer = sumerr

always exceptions to the rules..

gh = (ignored), often making the vowel before it long) as in.. night, fight, bright, freight
-ing = -een'guh or 'ihn' as in do'ing

'e' at the end of a word. called a silent 'e' - it makes most vowels before itself long ones.
make = mayk, fright = fr-'iy'-t ...except in certain cases, as in.. fishes/fish and other such words that change depending on the counter.. mongoose/mongeese/mongooses, goose/geese, mouse/meece/mouses etc
*****

Aunt = I weeble with this word. sometimes its 'ahh'nt and sometimes its aeh'nt.

roof = r oo f (long oo sound, like uu)

route = like root. (long oo sound, like uu)

wash = wahh'sh. Sometimes it comes out sounding a bit eastern with an 'r in it. wahh'rsh

oil = oy'yull ... (oy/oie, as in.. soy or toy)

theater/theatre = thee'uh'tur ('th' as in.. thought, think, thistle. not the hard 'th' as in this, that, those)

iron = iy'ern

salmon = sae'mon (ae sound..as in apple, ant)

caramel = care-eh-mel or cahr-ah-mel (care (long A sound) as in .. april, bear, swear, ape, air.. car (short a sound) as in.. tar, far)

fire = fiy'yr (the silent 'e' at the end makes the 'i' vowel long)

water = wah'tdur ... yes folks, here it is.. the American English alveolar tap. and you didn't think we had one. lol! it's like.. the tip of the tongue goes up to the edge of the ridge in the upper part of your mouth and 'taps' or briefly slides against it to make the 'tduh' sound that isn't quite a 'd', a 't', nor is it quite an 'L' sound either. I have been told, its a bit like butter is for the British English.. and is much like the Japanese 'r'. (which sounds nothing like an 'r' to me.)

sure = sh-err (some people make it sound more like shohr)

data = day'tah (some people make it sound a bit more like dahtah)

ruin = r'oo'ihn

crayon = cray'on

New Orleans = New-Or'lins (some call it New-Or'lee'ons)

pecan = pihk'kahn (some say pee'kaehn)

both = bohth

again = ah'gehn

probably = prohb-ah-blee

spitting image = spihting ihmaj

Alabama = Aeleh'baem'ah

lawyer = loy'er

coupon = koo'pahn

mayonnaise = may'oh'nayz (most just say may'oh. some call it mah'nayz)

syrup = sih'rup

pajamas = pah'jah'mahz (some just say pee-jays)

caught = koh't

naturally = nat'rehlee

aluminum = ah'loom-en'uhm

envelope = ehn-vehl-ohp

Tera First - step right up

Listening to: "Kiseki" by GReeeeN, "Every Single Day" by Shower
Watching: Murder She Wrote Reruns, ongoing dramas
Playing: Tera
Reading: random blogs, Youtube
mood: Neutral
Latest Topics of Interest: The Rather funny and random directions that spammers take. How to increase comments on a blog and getting the word out there.. come see this site!! :D

Not long ago, I was introduced to a new portal going to a place called Tera. At first it was a crimp really. It's a Huge world, which meant for a loong wait in transit... and then, when I'd finally arrived.. I couldn't seem to view it properly at all. Made my eyes hurt just to read the too small writing on the signs. *rubs eyes* and I wasn't too sure I wanted to stay. I nearly didn't.
As it turns out though, several of my Mabinogi guildies had also located the same portal and helped me to adjust things a fair bit.

So I figured to stick it out a bit longer. Finally having adjusted settings adequately and getting used to things enough to get around, I wandered from this place to that, doing the random quest, and clumsily falling off of the random cliff, doing the occasional face-splat into rocks or trees.. and all too often, backpedaling -into- monsters while trying to keep distance from yet -other- monsters(!!) fortunately, the race I chose is rather adept at running away.

So far, it's a lot of fun exploring and.. knowing there is soo much more yet to be seen is so exciting to me! I understand there is crafting and enchanting available, still haven't figured out much more then extraction and the expense of refinement. >.< Overall, though, this place seems worthy, even for the addition of one small Elin archer.

It seems they have the right idea for what free-to-play should mean. (free-to-play.. all the way through.) The detail is amazing.. maybe not as ooooo'ish as Aion had.. but really pretty nice. General gameplay reminds me a fair bit of the worlds of Warcraft and Everquest 2... as well as the mouse-drive camera weirdness of Dragonquest.. which takes a fair bit of getting used to for me.

As something of a solo artist, this game is very worth checking out. just.. watch out for the little silver poke-balls next to the monsters names. Party monsters are freakingly nasty.

Remember:
The lag monster is alive and well! Have a care, lest you find it chewing on yer heels.

A day like any other really. Future doesn't seem bright, trying to not think on it.. living in the moment. All in all, it hasn't been that bad of a moment really. Not particularly exciting, and not particularly boring or depressing either. Things I'm not happy with.. guess that will always be the case.. in one subject or another.. right? But that, if I pause to really give it some thought, the breeze outside is rather nice too. not too warm, not cold, and no mosquitoes.. or wasps buzzing about to cause concern. Yepyep, I like winter the best of the seasons. Everything is sleeping awaiting spring's renewal.. but for the rabbits and coyotes of course. Dry brown grass rustling in the puffs of breeze.. tossing dead leaves about rather capriciously. bird song tweeting in the winter sunlight. Not a bad time to be paying attention.

As usual in my life, I'm best looking beyond the trees before me at the forest.. as much as I enjoy hearing about and wishing I could explore other places.. This place right here, is ok.. it has its charm.. even if its been largely neglected by me most of the time. I have been in worse places really... other adventures in other timelines... through other portals. Normally, I'd say words best suit the moment, but let me explain my thoughts with something other then words. Oh, and I might mention, these scenes are soo not mine in origin.. they are PD pics found on the net (google Public Domain images). This is Texas to me.

Uphill climb.. From the foot of a mountain range.

Listening to: Hallyu Back Video Reviews
Watching: The Mentalist, Haven, Leverage
Playing: Mabinogi.
Reading: random blogs
mood: slightly irritated
Latest Rant:

Hard to put into words. There are times when I feel almost lonely.. wanting someone with a like mind to share my obsessions and interests with.. and other times when I unintentionally ignore people I should connect with.. like relatives. My excuse is simple enough, to me at least. I really have nothing new to say.

Here come the holidays again. As usual, I am not ready, nor am I really 'feeling' the spirit of it. Is it just me? It probably is.... just more of the same ol feelings of drifting along being of no worth.. floundering. how depressing!

Lingo resources..
Found a nice site for learning a bit of kanji called WaniKani. It has a nice approach for learning.. looking at it from the radical side, rather then the traditional stroke-order side of things. and it also utilizes Mnemonics to help remember them a bit more easily. Only downside is, you get 2 lessons free, then need a monthly subscription to continue... and for us dirt poor/lucky just to be online peoples...its not an easily surmountable issue. but then again, its also fairly cheap considering knowledge vs cost. certainly cheaper by far then if you took a collage class on it.

Byki from transparent software, is still a really good choice for flashcard learning... and even the express allows for user content. Of course, as a free user, you cannot create your own lists, but there are plenty of others offering their lists free.. which makes this software rather nice to keep track of.

And then there's Anki... which, considering the limited resources of any value available free on the net, isn't too shabby. It's a bit like a dictionary of yer own making, and part flashcard tester. Not as colorful and bold, or as voice-worthy as Byki is, it's a work in progress though.. so worth the look-see for language learners.

oh, and take a look at Memrise. Its a bit like an online visual of Anki really. people make up lists with pictures, sometimes sound, and user mnemonics.. and the site quizzes you on them, even sending you reminders as needed. Be aware though, the quizes are on a time limit.. so you can't mull over the possible answers for long.

A sudden pet peeve

Listening to: ...
Watching: Grimm, Castle, The Mentalist, Haven
Playing: Mabinogi.
Reading: random blogs
mood: annoyed
Latest Rant: gawd I hate it when.. i get interrupted by a third party, who then gets pissy with me for trying to finish my convo. *heaves a big sigh* Now I'm all annoyed. great.

Also annoyed with changes to something I have finally gotten used to... several things changing just after I finally gotten used to how it all works.

This site was once so nice, small, and stable..

now, it seems, they always come up with an upload error.. So I can no longer use them.. So I currently have no where to post mp3s. *pout*

Blogger has changed rather drastically, and although I can cope with the new editing box.. it's difficult to get past the changes for tags.. as the whole box randomly moves over the top of the editing box and I can no longer use the editing area without having to reload the whole page and then maybe not.

Photobucket has also changed quite a bit. fortunately, they are still allowing me to add to my already massive list of pictures. Just more hoops to jump through.

Yes, I am still a bit growlish with nexon over the pisspoor way they handled the mapletheft. Even after it was finally over the only compensation for having lost a lot of rl money was.. maplestory hair coupons..?!! really?

Added to my list of gripes... do people REally understand the meaning of the genre of romantic comedy? it means, a good portion (if not an equal share) of both romance and comedy in a drama, series, or movie. what it does Not mean is.. a bucket full of tears or traumatic horror being the main if not the sole carrier of the drama. Nor does it mean romance OR comedy. geez people! get it straight already!!
Urg!
If your going to give an answer to the age old question of "which are good romantic comedies?", please don't just answer as you please without first considering the -whole- question.
I swear, some people are dumber then a post with training wheels! \./

Edit:.. DivShare fixed whatever the issue was not allowing me to add songs! YaY! They are great again!

A road well traveled

Listening to: ...
Watching: 9 end 2 outs, Grimm, The Mentalist, Haven
Playing: Fairyland on Facebook occasionally and Mabinogi.
Reading: uh... Mabi chat?
mood: frustrated, a little tearful and angry
Latest Rant: see below....

you ever find yourself suddenly screeching to a halt in your walk of life with this horrible feeling that your on the wrong road?

and you can just barely make out a path, you 'know' is your opportunity.. but.. its so far away.. might even have missed it already

thats where I am atm. life sucks.

i get mad at myself.. for not having the will to want to even reach for that path.
because it seems when Running for it in the past.. i ended not a cm closer... just on the same-o different place, same channel
same place different channel.. completely like the original really
so i stop even wanting to look, much less reach for it.

these dreams are well out of reach for me. too far

i feel i am wasting my life...
like im just going in circles

time hasn't said 'bip' this whole last several years. and trying my best.. just landed me in the same situation

i figure.. if i can reach this dream.. I'll make another to reach for. right?
but i cant even reach this one.
kinda makes me feel its all a bit fruitless. meaningless
i grow weary of spinning in circles

if I'm not moving. im stagnating. to stagnate for me, is to die

i have a goal.. i cant make out its detail..
but no idea how to reach it and its too far away to want to try

in the past, when confronted with such a dilemma.. my response was flight...
but really. i cant do that this time.
every time i ran away, it just landed me in the same general situation
feels a bit like a cage with no visible bars
its frustrating

i know.. its all a bit esoteric or something... like smoke or.. fog or something..
guess thats what makes pipe dreams
frustrates me doubly that i cant find any answers.. no matter where or to whom i ask
so ..it's ok if you dont know what to say :)

I understand

there is something about writing.. perhaps.. no confidence though. why?!!

ano...

Listening to: Nightmare Before Christmas ost, The Piano Guys
Watching: Drama- Vampire Prosecutor 2
Playing: Dragonnest
Reading: reading? um.. this post?
mood: slightly under the weather... which is too sunny for my liking.
Latest Rant: a little disgruntled over the new editing hoops to jump through on blogger. for example... the fact that the sideline pull out for labels goes out too far and offsets the main editing window with no way of getting it back to normal size. Also, the labels themselves, has a way to 'select' up to 10 labels... but no way to 'exclude' up to 10 labels. and.. while there is a way to preview posts you are editing, there is no way to see the post you were working on after it has been posted. This is especially annoying if the post you are working on, happens to be an old one.

And while I'm on the soapbox, here's another growl-out for Maplestory.. who -knows- they messed up big time, when they allowed hackers to have access to even the most secure accounts on Nexon.. Even of those who no longer play the game but play others in the Nexon fold. And then, to dare compensate with crap on maplestory only? what the heck? ok ok.. maybe I should be thankful you compensated at all.. but really.. I have zero desire to play that game ever again, nevermind that my computer will no longer even play it anymore. my greatest desire is to totally scrap those maplestory characters altogether and leave my account to the games I -do- still play.

and in a related note... what about "free2play" do most game companies not get? free-to-play does not mean.. free-to-try, not for 10 mins, or 2 days.. or until level 5. It's not a limited thing! Nor does it mean.. Free to Play.. so long as you have money to spend on items needed for additional level kudos or access to special areas to be able to continue the game with. (gasping breath!)
It means that it's actually possible to play clear through the game without spending anything in rl moneys.. But... if you want that spiffy outfit or you simply must have that flashy cool mount.. you can pay for it and look super cool as you head for the 'finish line'. you can also buy power ups or super boosts, or special resurrection tabs to help you on your way.
Not to name names, and yet I just might... but really, guys, get yer act right if yer so determined to play the part. *grumble mumble*

Feeling restless and horribly disappointed in my online game home, I'm once more considering options.. and new portals to peruse. I'll be sure to let you all know how it goes.

lets try that again..

Listening to: "Freedom" by Kat-tun
Watching: Drama- pit-a-pat my love
Playing: Dragon nest.
Reading: JP for buzzy peeps
mood: s-ok
Latest Rant: They need to give peoples a bit more inventory space in Dragonnest to fit all those 'supeshul shtuffs' that you have no use for until later.. after you can no longer get them.

Hihi back on the net again. yay!! -took long enough-... well, its good to be back again. I have really missed having access to things and being able to chat with friends. I missed watching dramas.. unfortunately, the first one I got hold of just happened to be another of those reeeaalllyyy long one's I'm having to wade through.
I missed youtube's music vids and world events. I even missed the local weather page! It's amazing how,.. even being a naturally appreciative personality.. you still are not aware of just how much those things have really influenced you're life..until you no longer have them around. It certainly made me marvel at just how addicted I am to the net,.. especially considering how long I have determinedly been on it.

oh yeah, happy labor day yall. and if you see me about, be sure to wish me a happy b-day for the 8th. ^ ^ I'm thankful its no more "happy birthday, now go to school!" LOL! I want pocky.. and fishie-shaped cookies with sweet bean filling! :D

Can I kick my computer yet?

Hi again. Been suffering computer issues again this whole month,it seems like. Ninny thing just refuses to do some of the things I'd really like it to do! So-while it's being waited on I am stuck without. Hopefully be back soon though!
Growing tired of having to deal with the unanswered problems of my online home -unsure quite what to think yet.
Well, at least this has afforded me time for study. Yay, go me! (sarcastic snort)
I miss my dramas!

oh! This 4th! I survived it again this year! and without actual tears too! it went by and I actually -wasn't- affected beyond a somber twinge or three. I even watched the fireworks! Perhaps I have found the right distraction combo at long last! woohoo! I sat there, being anti-social, as usual, and listened to music while thinking about symbols, words, dreams and dramas. lol!
For those of you with no clue as to what I'm talkin about, sorry. I have really sad memories for this time of year. usually, I am close to tears and depressed through much of it, particularly so when watching/hearing fireworks. I know its not a good time for me to be alone. so I go wherever there are friendly people, who don't give much mind to the sad girl in the corner.. I'll be fine. really. Just one of those times of the year, i suppose.
Anyway!...

I'm thankful for God, Family, and Friends...without whom I would be the worlds most sad hopeless and helpless soul.

Portal news:

Mabinogi has turned another chapter in their book of generational leaps. Thats not to say it isn't fraught with glitches and fairly unpopular twists,.. still.. thus far, I'm rather enjoying some of the easier redos for g1-3. Feels good to think I can actually be of success at some of these quests after all this time. lol! so far so good in rolling through the first two gens by bow alone.
Also added fun, are the new fighter skills. Wield a pair of knuckles and those grizzlies that tested yer resolve before.. are toast!

Also, Mabi UA has taken on the refugees from Mabi EU servers.. not sure just what the issue was, but it's always rather nice to meet new faces. so Welcome Mabi Europe! Such welcome goes for all you possible mabi-ites as well!..

its a title

Listening to: "Pray for Japan" by Funky Monkey Babys
Watching: trying to think about it. .. soo hot tho.
Playing: fairyland in Facebook. stopped by online home, Mabinogi. played a bit of free Warcraft. (free2play until 20th level).
Reading: Japanese for Busy People ... who... arn't .. really that busy.
mood: hot and slightly grumpy
Latest Rant: Why is it I can't even think of a picture to go with ナ - na ??? Yeass, it -does- look like a knife.. doesn't solve the problem though! I need a NA picture I can remember!

Ahh so good to be back online once again! And with my own computer too! :D

Found a thought-provoking blog today. Seems this guy is doing similar to me, trying to learn Japanese step by step because of a lifelong interest. only problem is.. just after mentioning how cool technology is, he stopped posting... that was in Jan of 2010. Why stop?!! I just now found you!! Geez.. a few years too late, I guess. seems to ever be the case with me. ah well, guess I'll just... look through the past posts and hope for a few gems to keep me going with.

For me, it's mostly Japan, but I also have interest in knowing more about South Korea as well. Perhaps it's the whole 'Asia' thing, perhaps its all the dramas I have watched. lol! I imagine though, its a mix of both and a lot more.
Japan has a beauty in its language to me, like the words of a song you can only hum along to. There is elegance and charm in the very fiber of its people and traditions. Even as I can also see the not so wonderful things that is Japan, I feel I might could understand in some sense, as to why it is.

If I'm allowed a quote here..
"I will admit I'm not an expert on Japan. I couldn't recite the history of the country, I couldn't name the lineage of Emperors, I couldn't tell you the names of the past several Prime Ministers. I'm merely a person who has always had a fascination with a country that remains faithful to its history and traditions, and maintains a certain aesthetic tranquility, harmony and artistic quality to it, even in its bustling cities."

-Brendan にほんごがすこしわかります!(I Understand a Little Japanese!) http://brendanese.blogspot.com/2009/09/introduction.html

Kind of puts it nicely for me as well. Gambatte Nihon!

Sorry, I haven't been about of late, My computer is suffering issues of an unknown nature (bet it had something to do with that last HuGe lighting strike) and has been given into hopefully more competent hands then are my own in this matter, since then, I have been relegated to finding the time for my online addiction at the library for a bit.

rants n raves... right.

Listening to: "Don't Know" by MBLAQ, "Breath" by B2ST
Watching: Rooftop Prince, King2hearts, Queen Inhyun's Man
Playing: Castleville on Facebook and Mabinogi.
Reading: reading.. reading.. uh...
mood: ehh.
Latest Rant: see below....

here's one... Not terribly impressed with bloggers upcoming changes. Seems to be making things harder rather then easier for us bloggers. ok, yeah, I know, the changes are 'small' and can be worked around... but there sure seems to be a lot of the annoying little buggers.

I did try using it.. I suppose I shall -have- to try again soon.. but its difficult to get used to for me. First that comes to my mind, is the whole, let's go back to edit that post you made about ohhh a month ago... somehow you remember all the right html.. and you finish editing the post and... how to repost it? ah, at the top, ok.. and.. err how to see the post? I don't actually care a fig for the preview since I know what I wanted to say... just... maybe I would like to follow a link that's one the post?... can't I just view the posted page? no? no.. I have to go searching for it all over again. geez.

now to be a little fair about it... I do rather like the expanded space for the post.. no more trying to fit everything into the little box. Just have to be more careful as to where you hit the return and where you put the silly br tags.

This is about as bad as Facebook's Timeline in the great unpopularity contest.

and just what is all this about country by countrys anyway?

Listening to: "Wake Up" by Sung Joon
Watching: Rooftop Prince, King2hearts
Playing: a little bit of Castleville on Facebook.
Reading: Japanese manga translated to English
mood: sick.
Latest Rant: Why do people enjoy bandying the Word "Hate" about so freely?
******

I got knocked over with a fierce cold a day or so ago so have been spending the time dizzily sleeping, sneezing, coughing, hacking, irritated, annoyed, muffled, muzzy-headed, too hot, too cold, sleepy. sniffing, aching, headache, unsatisfied... not much(any) fun at all.

The weather here has finally gotten back into its usual springtime rain/sun/wind groove. We had such a ..non-existant winter, I was really starting to wonder.

what else... um.. uh.. still working a bit on drama blog pages.. still studying... going really slow atm tho. Not feeling in the mood to do much more then grumble, groan, whine,... and generally feel directionless.

I think I have a few too many of these kinds of days...

watched Anime

Yobi, the Five Tailed Fox
Movie 85 mins
Yobi
A slightly melancholic story. The aliens were cute, Yobi was cuter in her curiosity and playful impishness.

A small 5-tailed fox, living with a group of aliens, sparks an idea to rescue one of their family members from the human school children camping nearby. So under human guise, she joins them, hoping to convince the errant alien to return to the mountain with her. She is pursued by a hunter who is determined that she would not steal a human soul so she can be human... not that she wants to.

Kiki's Delivery Service

Kiki and Jiji
Fun story about a young witch, just coming of age, moves to a human city with her cat and gets a job working delivery out of a hilltop bakery.

Night on the Galactic Railroad/ 銀河鉄道の夜/ Ginga Tetsudō no Yoru

Giovanni
I didn't quite get to finish this one as the last part could not be found anywhere I looked on the net. I felt for little blue kitty, Giovanni. I understand there is a live-action of this film called "I Carry the Ticket of Eternity". I would like to see it, if it can be found.

A somber tale about a poor boy called Giovanni, who catches a galaxy train to the stars with his best friend, Campanella. There they meet several interesting sorts, including a fellow who catches swans and watches as they dissipate into 'sand' in his bag, a blind wireless operator who hears a staticy refrain and prayer, and a tutor with two youngsters, who tells him a story of being aboard a sinking ship.

A few (more) good anime

Natsuiro no sunadokei/ hourglass of summer (Japanese)
movie - 2 episodes

Kotaro Makimura
Ligene
the ova was short and rather sweet. Kotaro has plans to confess to Kaho before summer vacation but after running into a mystery girl, and getting tossed about in time a little bit, learns that the girl of his dreams is in danger. then he meets the time patroller he ran into, who tells him the details of the coming accident and that in order to save kaho, he has to save another girl from his school's swim team... which he does. But somehow it doesn't stop the event from occurring.

Kaichou wa Maid-sama/ Maid-sama (Japanese)
26 episodes

Takumi Usui
Misaki Ayuzawa
Cute if a bit light..even for a soujo..
Misaki is head of the school council and rules with something of an iron thumb. She is constantly riding the guys cases for causing grief to the girl students.. then she gets acquainted by one guy in particular who shadows her doggedly until the end.

Kamisama Hajimemashita (Japanese)
13 episodes

The temple's previous owner
A homeless human girl is given a 'godly' earth mark on her forehead and given care-taking over a temple of match-making. There she meets the familiar of the place, a fox demon, and eventually falls in love with him.

Wednesday, November 09, 2011

Ah finally! changes are a-foot! ..or maybe a wave.

It's finally cooled down here.. almost overnight really. Like as if the local fall faeries suddenly realized the lingering summer months were overdue for a change.

I managed to catch up on a couple of dramas and updated the blog listing. For those of you hoping I had finally quit the obsession-for-dramas.. sorry, it hasn't totally left me yet!

As for my favorite portal to date.. I am glad they managed to get the new gen out, the trading system is rather cool and I was happy to see the ox event return. .. still.. the company imms have robbed me of my guild leader in a total sense, and I have found myself nearly in a perpetual flummox of frustrated feelings. Yes, I know, not exactly a reason to feel so low about it... not exactly any mutuality... and I was already feeling saddened for the distance I was beginning to feel. The guild itself had gotten so very quiet... and when there was chatting, it felt it was mostly 'continuation sentences' I was not given to understand. But still.. the leaders caused movement in an otherwise still pond. And atop all that, my giant along with several mules, have been abruptly locked out... which, although I'm certain was not intended, is nevertheless as annoying as the strong impression that the imms are likely ignoring tickets all-together.
And then there's this.. slightly annoying guy, who on the one hand, is nice as can be, and on the other, someone I'd like to avoid. Maybe all the hot then sudden freezing temperatures is making me unseasonably grumpy.

In the world of life... There is this island whose people and culture I Greatly admire in so so So many ways, who had some cataclysmic difficulties earlier this year. If I somehow had the monetary means, I would certainly have done what I could to help them out, but really all I could do was shake my head sadly at their plight and pray my mental support... which I continue to do so.. and searching the net in hopes of catching good news that things are possibly improving for them. I feel deeply for those who passed on, of both the 2-legged and 4-legged variety and more-so for those left-behind in this life without them. Such a tragedy really. (and still on-going, as I understand.)
Its horrible that all that beautiful scenery, and affected villages/towns/and cities that, by necessity, had to be abandoned...or simply wiped away as if they never were.
My thoughts to the people there are thus:.. I know, you have been there for so very long... I know, it's hard to have to leave, and it's likely going to be even harder to find a new place to go. but please, if you feel your life is at stake by unseen danger, please -do- take the steps needed to see you and your families, including the 4-footed members, to a safer place in which to live... even if its just to a nearby island or a further-from-danger city.

I had a rather odd dream last night..in which someone who was very important to me had shown up at a planned camping trip. I was trying to accept that the trip was being postponed, when he spoke up, asking if I wanted to go with them and relief
flooded me. his smile was gentle, warm, and evident.. and I wondered if it might be a last gesture of care or favor I was to ever receive from him. I woke up with a sigh.. feeling sadness and a small warm smile fingering inside. There are times.. even now.. when I really miss you. I said I never would lie like that ever again.. and I never have. I bet you know that though. I really am sorry.
Ducky!.. are you still there? are you ok?

Listening to: "Zombie Love song" by Your Favorite Martian.
Watching: Castle, Sanctuary, and Terra Nova
Playing: Mabinogi
Reading: This post, wiki, general surfing the net
mood: neutral, slightly grumpy
Latest Rant: While I realize the Gov on the financial Island were likely intending to keep the public from panic, I do hope they realize their mistake in trying so hard to downplay things... because the result was the people's distrust.

The thing about trust... its fairly easy to have, but once you lose it, Its quite difficult to ever fully retrieve again.

hey there..
Of late, I have been re-watching several drama's I really enjoyed the first time through when I got started on this little obsession. lol! They are still just as wonderful as when I first saw them.
so if your up for the review,.. or perhaps the first time.. take another look at

The 1st Shop of the Coffee Prince
Yoon Eun Hye as Go Eun Chan
Gong Yoo as Choi Han Kyul
Lee Sun Gyun as Choi Han Sung
Chae Jung Ahn as Han Yoo Joo

and The Vineyard Man
Oh Man Suk as Jang Taek Gi
Yoon Eun Hye as Lee Ji Hyun
Kim Ji Suk as Kim Gyung Min
Jung So Young as Kang Su Jin
and the wonderful Lee Soon Jae as Lee Byung Dal

Next up is.. My Girlfriend is a Gumiho!

Studies have been going quite slow.. plodding at best... but at least there's still a bit of interest in the movement eh? Too hot to do much more then a stagger anyway.
Can hardly wait for the winter's cooling temperatures.

catching up a little..

Hey there.. just to say I said so...

I fixed the autoplay on the music box thingie to the right of this posting... at last! so now it doesn't automatically play when the page is loaded. yes the music is good, yes its wonderful to hear.. but.. sometimes, I'd rather hear the video's and/or the mp3s I have added to a post instead... and while I could just turn the music box off, it's an extra step I'd rather not have to take... I'm lazy, face it.

Also, got good advice from a friend and picked up an inventive little add-in to obliterate interrupting commercials on the pages of my favorite shows. It works soo well!! even on the one's seemingly 'in' with the show videos. So, in that respect, I am verrry happy right now. :D I guess I didn't overly mind most of them, but some of them wouldn't even mute, they'd just start blasting away in the middle of a show's tense or quiet moment.. worse then an ill-timed phone call or something.

Going extra slow on studies. Feeling a tad overwhelmed by the task... but I'll get there. I'm determined to push through and accomplish the thing! I never have been good at competition.. seems, anytime I am forced to rush, I manage to screw things up. So this time.. hows it go? slow and steady wins the race?

Right now, TX is wilting under a heat wave of triple digits.. and makes the saying a true one, that tx summers -require- a working air conditioner. plehh! so, what in the world, is a cold weather girl, like me, doing in sizzleworth central? even I haven't figured out that particular riddle.

What else.. um.. feeling a tiny bit left out with guild friends of late.. although, perhaps I'm deserving.. I haven't been in mabi a whole bunch of late either. have to keep it in mind to get on a bit more, if for no other reason, to re-connect with my best friends there... especially because said silly friends, are not often on msn, aim, or any of those im types very often.
I miss the ol mr. R .. rather acutely. people change, I know. and I try to not let my missing/saddness show too much for fear it will become annoying to others... but I feel it just the same. Once again, I find myself wondering if the changes are for the improvement or not... even while knowing, once again, there's nothing I can say or do about it either way.
I also miss mr. A.. and all I can really say is.. i'm sorry... if I had it to say over again, I wouldn't respeak the same words.
I am glad mr W and I seem to be getting along again. Found a niice picture to chat about. hehe and he seems to be willing to take on a bit of good-natured teasing about it.

Been playing a bit of eden eternal and dragonnest. eden eternal needs a better.. or better explained crafting system. and dragonnest really needs to fix quest bugs, explain/or add-in their crafting system so maybe we can dispense with the character clone wars going on. And add more quest content for levels 14-16... at least that!

I did re-connect with an old guild leader from runes of magic. So good to hear from her again! wishing we had another game in common though. Seems she had gained the attention of a purrty serious stalker and that led to abandonment.. or purrhaps it was the abandonment that led to the stalker's exposure.. or maybe it all just kinda happened at the same time. either way, the game just stopped feeling right to me, after she left. so I left also.

Did a little reading online and found a possible connection relating to my ear/eye issues.. dunno if that really means anything at all, but its info... and its good to be reminded that a medical practice, really -is- just that. practice. Sometimes, they really just don't have the answers and need to employ what is known best as.. an educated guess. I really need to find my way to a specialist at some point before I fall apart completely or something that's equally disastrous.

Reality has been a bear thus far this season... looking forward and hoping for a bit more escape time soon.

updated: Took a bit of movie advice and watched "The Help". At first I was a little bored.. Much like the start of gone with he wind or somesuch. but after a bit, I started to really like the 'skeeter' character and the women she interviewed for the novel she was writing. Like her mother said.. "Sometimes courage skips a generation. Thanks for bringing it back.." It certainly did take courage, both for the person writing the story, and for those who stepped up to share what they knew to be, even at a possible cost to their lives and those of their families.

Portalness

I have heard about the possibility of a new portal (Dragonnest) opening up sometime this summer.. Which, I am told, should be quite exciting. Since portal hopping is still considered free (to play) I might just have to go take a look when I get the chance.

A friend of mine once told me about another such portal leading to a place called the Gates of Andaron which, although a fairly small world, is graphically well made up. might be worth the look-see, eh?

in the meanwhile... Real Life makes a mess of my Fantasy Life.. again.

Welcome to 'this' time of year!

Life is, as ever, full of ups and downs in a never ending loop rather like a nonstop roller-coaster. Atm I am coasting in a kind of low flat area.. hoping to keep my nose, at least, out of the water. A rather dull time.

I developed a nerve kink or something about a week ago, somewhere around my right shoulderblade. This has put the whole of my right arm on a constant conniption alert.
It blinkin hurts ala time!.. but especially when I bend over or put pressure on just about any part of my arm... which includes simple leaning. Meanwhile, on the other side, one of my fingers has been half numbed for weeks... why, im not sure. prolly another pinched nerve?

Then to add to the physical issues.. I need to see another doc about my hearing etc and maybe get disability straightened out... and unemployment hoops to jump through.. and...

I have a good friend feeling so low with life he's attempted to end it early.. which i consider a serious cop-out. so fighting between feelings of anger, and concern/support over this. i do wish there was an easier answer for the friend. I really do. and...

Personal feeling s of inadequacy and unrequited-ness. Just not sure why really. Maybe just influence from the changing weather patterns or maybe its just ".. a bit of undigested beef a blot of mustard, a crumb of moldy cheese, a fragment of an underdone potato" perhaps? (Scrooge in A Christmas Carol) and...

The weather has been mostly beastly of late, welcome to the southern sizzle of summer. ugh!

In portal news though.. Found one leading to a Final Fantasy styled world the other day (rather in spite of the video on the page, which looks more like Vindictus). It's kinda neat... except for the limit on the number of kills in a given area.. and the gajillian questions I have concerning crafting. Is there no help for this?
Its called Atlantica oh, and for those interested.. its a new part of the nexon 'free-to-play' games list along with Vindictus and Dragonnest.

Relief and Concern

Hey there..

After a short pause of held breath, finally i can breath a sigh of relief again. Got a visit from my sis, bro and his gf and weathered it alright, i suppose. had some laughs. it was really good hearing bro's voice more then anything.. not sure why that is. I just really liked listening to him. maybe it was because he was sober.. or somehow clearer.. or maybe it was just a reaffirmation. not sure.
It was, as always, great to hear my sister's laughter. and the gf fit in so well, I nearly forgot that she wasn't already family several times. is that somehow wrong? hmm. 'mom' didn't show up.. I was wondering in the back of my mind if I should have called her, but then, after hearing how my sis's thoughts about her were not that great, i guess it was good that i rethought it. Although, i kinda didn't want to leave her out... and still feel a bit badly about it. Maan, I miss them already!

And I am a little bit worried about distantly admired neighbors.. I heard they are having a really rough time with the shaky weather and results of a fire that wasn't put out by the torrent of water that followed. I heard all the noise and shoving was so bad, it moved their whole house by what was it?..about 8 feet?! Thats hard for me to imagine! I guess their place was prepared for such events really.. but still, it was worse then encountered before.. and I hope the fire is able to be safely put out before too many more suffer from it.

I hope our cicadas sing again this year like they did once in the past. somehow it made the heat of summer bearable... and I have missed their sound.

I remember...

I suppose I am one who has led something of an interesting life.. (just like the curse eh?) I have been told several times, that I could fill the pages of a book with it all... don't know that it'd be worth much for reading but... lol XD
Anyway, I mentioned an iceberg tip to a friend, and she seemed quite entertained.. so I said I would post more here... in the occasional 'I remember' segments of my life. Bear in mind.. I colorize a bit to protect the guilty.. as well as the otherwise innocent. I don't much like the idea of family anger over one person's remembrance vs another... since people remember things differently, even if they are of the same event.

The beginnings of my life are apparently shrouded in a bit of a mystery. and although I certainly don't recall any of it, others claim to.. and everyone seems to have a different story to tell... from the wild, to the complete norm. Now, personally.. I consider it all a great and colorful story.. to the point that I don't really care if it is true or not... but somehow the stories continue to entertain.

When I was really little, still in my first set of training wands, There is a story I remember told to me by the great and grand poobah mugwump.. father of the great mugwump who raised me. Great and grand mugwump had a lot to say really.. he was a big guy, i remember.. and although he occasionally gave me a fright by magically sticking my little feet to the ceiling, I considered him to be someone I admired. One of the things he insisted upon, was that there was no such thing as a dark greenman in our family-line. (dark greenmen were.. like a cross between a neighboring islander and one from far away in the dark lands to the south.)
..and also, that there were enemies of our family, that were seeking to rewrite our family history from the books... making us drift into obscurity of untruth.

He said, there was a time when our family had possession of a large island off the coast of a yet larger island. and the name of it was attached to our own family name. but because our family was related to other more well-known families, who were embroiled in a sort of clan war with others... and lost an important battle, we had to leave our island.. and it was given into the hands of others.
He told me a tale of how, under pressure from our enemies, there was an idea hatched, that we would flee that land and send our people to 'the land of better opportunity'. (I wish only that I had been old enough or simply with-it enough to ask for details on this subject.. like dates and relation names!)
Somewhere in the middle of this.. a relative, fairly drunk in a pub, got into a tangled issue of 'cheating at cards' after a horse had traded hands. So the drunkard, fleeing possible death, took the horse and fled with it into the woods. Which is how my family came to live in that backwards wooded area that I remember growing into. (To a man who was old when I was there, to remember even 16 years.. can be a really long time!)
So.. the end result, so said he, was that I was one who was brought over in secret from our enemies, into the place I was to be 'born' into. which would make me like either 1st or 2nd generation.. depending on just when (or where?) I was born.

To continue in thought from this story, I attempted once, to look into it.. wondering if there was truth.. an odd thing how many people have, at least a copy of their birth papers... I have a copy of an old file paper which only lists name and occupation. not time.. and I have had trouble in even requesting a copy of this from my home.. they have refused me, and considered sending police after me just for asking. they even sent me n old copy that was unstamped and I had to re request a stamped one because a paper without the stamp is just a paper and not considered legit by anyone in any place else.
So, using this paper as a query, i attempted to locate and speak with the listed doctor. I did find someone by the name, well retired... (he apparently was already an old man at the time I was first there) He said, that he often came to work to find children already born and waiting.. so he simply signed the papers and let them off with their families. He wasn't actually there for the birth... which might explain why I do not have a birth certif as such.. and the copy of the file I do have, doesn't list a time.

I also went to a small 'reading room' for those looking into their family past... and with a bit of help, I discovered my original family name was listed in an old book. this name being the name mentioned in great and grand poobah mugwump's story. I was soo excited! the book was ordered from some far away place.. and I waited for a time with bated breath. the day arrived, and there I sat, in that cluttered little room, and old book in my hands. I carefully opened it and leafed through a page or three.. my eyes seeking the name i so wanted to see at last and..
Suddenly a pair of huge meaty hands thrust into my view, grabbed my hands and hauled me out of my seat. I was quickly pushed out the door of the shop, hearing words to the effect that I was meddling in things i best not. I hit the roadside in a plop.. and heard the doorbells ring as the door shut.. and the click of a lock. You can imagine my surprise, eh? Although for a time, I looked, I never found another listing with that particular family name again.

The enchantress of the east wind, closely related to me, laughs this whole story off, saying that nono.. I was merely born under a bridge somewhere...(like a troll?) and since she is older, she would know best. right?

Asking the grand mugwump, son of the great and grand.. was a bit like pulling hen's teeth on a moonless night. He would only say, with a chuckle.. I was born on the way.

Then there is the story told by yet another relative, not so closely related really, who claimed to have visited the island and looked for relatives" over there.. she seems to think we are a part of the dark greenmen in a really way-back loong history. which, if true, would make me a very old generation indeed... likely dating further back then that of the revolution! Has my family really been here for so long?

and to think.. all this from just one little happening. XD
So when people ask where I started out.. in order to remain truthful (I am a horrible liar) I am forced to say.. it depends on which version of the story you believe the most. All of them have gaps.. some very obvious holes which, if i still had the chance to gain answers from, I would certainly ask.
